Another walk in the field tonight. It's cool and damp - a nice change from the scorching summer heat and the cockers were ready to run off some energy. McCoy continues to amaze us. He walked five times around the field - that's almost a mile. He kept up with the group and even ran a little bit. He is now playing with toys in the house and from all appearances, seems to be housetrained. Go figure. He has a new behavior - not quite jumping up on us, but sort of bouncing on his front legs. His ears are less swollen, eyes clearer. He is now visiting around - checking with Dan, then checking with me. Asking for neck and shoulder rubs. What a nice guy. It always shocks me how such wonderful dogs end up in such trouble. This one is special.
