McCoy is smiling today. A shy smile - he's not completely sure about things yet. His ears still hurt (he's shaking his head some) but he decided to take a walk with us in the field tonight. He didn't make it all the way but gave it a really good try. He had to rest a while as we finished our last leg of the walk. It was great to see him moving freely, with his head up, testing the air. Who knows, rabbits might have been out there earlier! He is less worried about having his neck touched today and was happy to meet the other cockers. They were fine with him as well. He is very thin and doesn't have much muscle, but if he can "run with the pack" he will get stronger quickly. His ear surgery is scheduled for the end of next week so he will work hard on eating lots of good food, getting exercise and fresh air - and lots of rest. And maybe playing with some toys! Thanks to everyone who has donated to McCoy's Surgery Chipin so far - we so appreciate your generosity!
Stay tuned for updates every day or so! And - paws up from McCoy and his new cocker friends!
